Pro-Dex, Inc. Micro Motors Division Selected as a 2002 Medical Design Excellence Award Winner

SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2002--PRO-DEX, INC. (NASDAQ: PDEX - news) today announced that its Micro Motors, Inc. division had been selected as a 2002 Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA) winner.

Micro Motors was named a MDEA winner in the category of Dental Instruments, Equipment and Supplies and involves the Company's revolutionary product, HealOzone TEC3, designed and manufactured exclusively for Curozone USA, Inc. The HealOzone TEC3 treats dental caries with a 10-second ozone application, eliminating conventional drill-and-fill treatment, reducing the time patients spend in the dentist's chair from approximately 60 minutes to 10 minutes while allowing dental caries to reverse naturally through re-mineralization.

Patrick L. Johnson, Divisional President of Micro Motors, Inc. stated, ``Winning a Medical Design Excellence Award is truly an extraordinary accomplishment for our team at Micro Motors. Over the course of the last two years, we have spent an enormous amount of time and energy refocusing the Company. We redefined the strategic intent of Micro Motors and this award is a significant indicator that we have been successful in these efforts. Micro Motors and Curozone USA, Inc. converted a provocative body of clinical research and a concept for a revolutionary medical device into a fully marketable product. We believe that the HealOzone will radically change the composition of professional dental care and we are proud to be a driving force behind it.''

The Medical Design Excellence Awards Ceremony, where the Company's winning status will be announced, will be held during the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East 2002 Conference and Exposition, June 5, 2002 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
